JOIN USThe Vyalikaval police summoned an assistant executive engineer and a junior health officer in connection with the suicide of Subramani S, a BBMP pourakarmika.
The officials have been issued notices to appear before police and record their statements in the case.
Though preliminary investigations revealed that it was a case of unnatural death, the two were summoned following a complaint by Subramani’s wife Kavitha that BBMP officials were responsible for her husband’s death over nonpayment of salary, said a senior police officer.
Notices were issued to assistant executive engineer Rajiv and junior health officer Umashankar to appear before the investigation officer and record statements.
Police said that since the complaint does not mention any official’s name, they themselves were checking the people involved and summoning them. “We have asked BBMP officials to share the documents and details of biometrics of Subramani. We are yet to receive the post-mortem report. Based on the family’s allegation, we are gathering evidence,” the officer said.
