Class 10 student commits suicide

A tenth standard student ended her life in Kavanalla, Kalasa.

Ashwitha (16), daughter of Annappa, was identified as the deceased. She was a student of Government High School and was staying in the BCM hostel. She had come to her native place Kavanalla four days ago in order to participate in a puja in a temple and had returned to the hostel on Wednesday morning.

Ashwitha however surprised everyone by returning home on the same evening. After locking herself in a room, she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling.

Her classmates said that she was depressed because of her poor performance in the recent exams. A case was registered in Kalasa police station.
