Committed to my statement on Ram Mandir: Poojary

Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has that if anyone wanted to murder him they could do so.

“I am committed to my statement that Ram Mandir should be built in Ayodhya,” he told reporters, after distributing fruits at different ashrams on account of Sonia Gandhi's birthday on Sunday.

Poojary, responding to a query on an anonymous audio clip, demanding Poojary be killed in an encounter or externed from the country for speaking in favour of Ram Mandir, said, “I do not know who released the audio. If he finds happiness, then let him kill me. It is the wish of the majority of Hindus to build a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Is it wrong to declare that it should be constructed?”

He also said, “I believe in not only Lord Rama, but also Prophet Mohammed.”

Emphasising that the country needs the service of Sonia Gandhi and her family, he said fruits are distributed to the inmates of St Joseph Prashanth Nivas Ashrama, St Antony Ashrama, Abhaya Ashrama and Saanidhya Residential School and Training Centre for the Mentally Challenged praying for the health of Sonia Gandhi.

He also visited Yatheem Khana in Bunder and distributed fruits.

Poojary asserted that he is ready to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, if the High Command gives him the ticket.

“I have already expressed to the High Command my willingness to contest. We have to instil confidence in the people to help the Congress win. All party workers should work for the victory of its candidate,” he stressed.
