Four serving officers and one retired officer along with a middleman were accused of wide scale misappropriation during awarding of compensation for land acquired by the KIADB. On September 22, their houses were raided and documents related to the land scam were seized.
The Lokayukta had filed criminal charges against all the six. Of them, retired KAS officer Muninaryanappa has been placed under Lokayukta custody till October 5 and Santhosh, a middleman, has been placed in judicial custody.
The other four were given a week’s time by the Lokayukta to give their confession statement. Furthermore, on September 25, the Chief Minister’s office served suspension orders on Anil Kumar, Ramakrishna and Chikkabettaiah.
All the three disappeared on Friday and their phones have been switched off. Efforts are on by the Lokayukta police to trace them.
