BWSSB Chief Engineer (Cauvery) Narayan said the repair work was completed only in the wee hours on Friday.

Water supply to more than 1,20,000 connections in Cauvery IV stage I phase is likely to be affected for a few more days. He said: ”We started the pumping station at around 3:30 am on Friday and consumers will have to bear with the inconvenience.”

Chief Engineer (Maintenance) T Venkataraju said the BWSSB is supplying water through tankers in the affected areas. “We have already been receiving complaints about the shortage of water. We have engaged all the 45 tankers to supply water free of cost to the areas affected due to damaged bulk flow meter,” he said.
