Ministers, on condition of anonymity, said the issue was not deliberated upon at the hour-long meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the Karnataka High Court is yet to give its view on disqualification of 16 MLAs.
The High Court earlier heard the petition of the disqualified MLAs challenging action against them by Speaker K Bopaiah but adjourned the hearing till next Monday.
Governor H R Bhardwaj also asked Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to go for another trust vote on Thursday, which was accepted by the Chief Minister.
In view of these developments, the Centre has no role to play and hence the issue was not discussed, a Union Minister said.
There was speculation that the Cabinet would discuss the Karnataka issue considering the fact that the Governor has recommended imposition of President's rule.
The Governor, in his report sent to the Union Home Ministry, has said that Vote of Confidence won by the Yeddyurappa government yesterday, was not conducted properly.
