They also  urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to recall Bhardwaj immediately.
The party submitted a memorandum to the prime minister here  in which it said the governor had “utterly  failed” to detach himself from his “political past” and proved himself “completely unworthy of the high constitutional office he holds.

The history sheet of extra-constitutionalism indulged by the governor disentitles him to occupy a worthy constitutional office.  “The essence of constitutionalism is restraint, convention, and not confrontation.”

The memorandum was submitted by senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jailtey and M Venkaiah Naidu. “We have met both   prime minister and the Union home minister. Our meeting was only regarding the governor. The party has demanded that he be recalled immediately,” Jaitley told a press conference after the meeting.

The BJP wondered how within 24 hours of recommending President’s Rule, the governor could make a volte-face and ask Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to seek a fresh vote of confidence, calling the earlier vote a farce. According to the party, the governor was “acting with a pre-determined mind” and had recommended for President’s rule in the State “literally within minutes.”
