Alcoholic knifes wife to death

 The police said Joseph (45), a painter, attacked his wife Mary Stella (40), an attendant at Christa Jyothi College in K R Puram, with a knife after she refused him money for buying liquor.

When Mary declined to give money, Joseph slit her throat with the knife and repeatedly stabbed her. She collapsed and died even before neighbours could rush her to a hospital. They caught Joseph and thrashed him.

Police rushed to the spot and took him into their custody. 

The couple, married for 15 years and with three children, would frequently quarrel over Joseph's drinking habit.

Mary had sent her two children to KGF a week ago, as they had vacation. The eldest daughter had gone to work at a garment factory.

He admitted to having stabbed his wife to death.

Security guard found dead

A security guard was found dead in Siddapura area here in the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Pyare Jan (75), a security guard in a garage in Someshwarnagar in Arekempanhalli, according to the police.

Pyare Jan had a quarrel with his colleague Mubarak alias Alijan (65) over a petty issue on Tuesday night. Ali Jan reportedly hit him with an iron rod on his head and escaped.  He was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to injuries, police said.

Maid ends life

A 24-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging in Viveknagar on Wednesday evening.

The victim Reshma was a resident of Ejipura. She used to work as a maid.
According to the police, her family members found her hanging and took her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
