Take action against culprits: Protesters

Chennappa, leader of the Dalit organisations leading the protest said, politicians belonging to the upper caste with the help of the police have been suppressing those belonging to the downtrodden castes politically.

Ramanjinamma’s political opponents attacked her when she was heading towards Gauribidanur along with her husband. This incident can be viewed against the background of Ramanjinamma’s victory in the elections of the Gundlukothuru village’s Milk Producers’ Cooperative Organisation.

The local police have failed in initiating action against those responsible for attacking Ramanjinamma, the protesters observed.

If immediate action is not taken in this regard then widespread protest will be held, the protesters warned.
