The deputy police chief for Helmand province, Kamaluddin Khan, said today that the attack in Gershk district happened yesterday night.
In a separate incident, the police chief in neighbouring Nimroz province says an air strike by international coalition forces killed four suspected Taliban fighters who were planting a bomb. Abdul Jabar Pardeli says a Taliban commander was among those killed by yesterday night's strike.
