Moily, Amoora, Gulvadi among Nudisiri award recipients

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Alva’s Education Foundation Chairperson Dr M Mohan Alva informed the awards will be bestowed on Dr M Veerappa Moily for his contribution in the field of Social Service, Dr G S Amoora for Literature,  Dr M M Kalburgi for Research, Santhosh Kumar Gulvadi for Journalism, Dr Shimoga Subbanna for Light Music, Dr Balipa Narayana Bhagavata for Yakshagana, Dr M Leelavathi for Cinema, Prof B Jayaprakash Gowda for Organisation, Dr B K Basavaraja Rajarshi for Spirituality and Dr K P Putturaya for Literature.

Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade will present the award along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to the personalities on the occasion of the valedictory of ‘Alva’s Nudisiri,’ informed Dr Alva.

‘Alva’s Nudisiri,’ the three-day literary convention will commence on October 29 and will be chaired by Award winning Litterateur Vaidehi and veteran poet HS Venkatesh Murthy will inaugurate the programme.

‘Kannada Manassu: Samanvayadedege,’ a book about the previous Nudisiri will be released by Vaidehi on the occasion. B K S Karanth will be the recipient of the Alva’s Chithrasiri Award on October 26 on the occasion of the State level art camp that will be held from October 25 to 26 as a part of Nudisiri.
