Cruise vessel 'Aida Aura' calls at NMPT

As many as 1,100 passengers opted for ground tour and visited various tourist spots in and around Mangalore City. They visited 1,000 pillar temple, Soans Farm at Moodbidri, monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali at Karkala, cashew factories, St Aloysius chapel, Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple, Kadri Manjunatha temple and other places.

The tourists sailed off after shopping in the City in the evening. The vessel had come from Goa and sailed to Cochin. Majority of the passengers in the vessel were from Germany.   
The tourists have enjoyed the scenic beauty of Mangalore and the hospitality extended to them during their short stay. This is the fourth cruise vessel called at the New Mangalore Port during the current financial year.

NMPT Chairman  P Tamilvanan stated in a press release that the beginning of the current fiscal was very encouraging and six more cruise vessels are expected during the remaining period of the current financial year. The Port is fully geared up to handle the cruise vessels by providing all the infrastructure, he added.
