Ravi Poojary calls to extort money from a businessman

The latest victim, is a Dubai-returned businessman, who is the Managing Director at J P Lightning Company, a private firm.

According to the complaint filed by the victim with the Chikpet police, Kiran Henry Pinto (35), a resident of Wilson Garden, received a call by a person who allegedly introduced himself as Ravi Poojary and demanded Rs five crore.

“The victim Pinto received a call from (00441617506580) at around 4 pm on Saturday. The caller introduced himself as Ravi Poojary and spoke to him in Hindi. The caller asked him to pay Rs five crore out of Rs 50 crore profits he had made from  his transport business in Dubai from 1995 to 2009. The telephonic conversation lasted for nearly five minutes,” the police said.

The caller informed Pinto that one of his associates would contact him soon. According to the police, Pinto who hails from Udupi had come to Bangalore just six months ago.
