According to data released by the Indian Institutes of Management, there will be 10 test centres in the city. Some of the centres are Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Garden City College of Science and Management Studies, Global Academy of Technology, IBMT Business School, ICFAI business school, Merit Trac Services Pvt Limited, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, RV College of Engineering and Reva Institute.

This time around, the IIMs have also uploaded detailed directions of test centres in their official web site to help out students. However, the candidates have also been requested to report at the testing venue at least two hours before the examination. Candidates won't be allowed to take the test, if they arrive less than 90 minutes before the scheduled time.

Technical glitch that marred last year’s exam, is a concern for many students. However, Prometric, the US agency that is responsible for technical management has announced contingency measures. The agency has promised that it would supply licensed versions of software and operating systems to all centres. Every testing lab is also provided with contingency seats, so that if there is a system failure, student can take the test from another system.

At the test centre, CAT volunteers will highlight site code, test date, time, testing ID and confirmation number on their identity card. Guards will also check admit card and photo identification at various entry points of the test centre.

As the stakes for exam are much higher than any other B-school examination, candidates are leaving no stone unturned for cracking the test.

"Getting in to IIM is my long time dream. I am planning to visit the centre, a day ahead, so that there are no hiccups on my examination day," says Nidhi T, a candidate. Many candidates prepare for years to crack the test, a prerequisite for admission to top B-schools of the country.  The test comprises of questions that assess a student's quantitative, verbal, logical and data interpretation abilities.
