CNC to hold 'Delhi chalo' on Nov 1

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, CNC President N U Nachappa said that the protest will be attended by the Kodavas in traditional attire. He said the Centre will be urged to work for the overall development of Kodavas. Kodavas should get global representation and Kodava land should be constituted as per the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

Autonomy should be granted to the Kodavas if Kodava land is constituted.
Special rights should be provided to Kodava land like Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states, he said adding that Kodavas should be considered as linguistic minority tribal community. The recommendation of the Dilip Singh Booriya to consider Virajpet taluk as reserve area should be withheld by the Centre, he said.
