Humour galore on stage

Antaranga will stage two dramas at Seva Sadana, Malleswaram on May 9 and 10. Saddu! Vicharane Nadeethide, based on the the famous Marathi play Shanthala Court Chaalu, written by well-known playwright Vijay Tendulkar, will be staged on May 9. The drama has strong Uttara Kannada dialect with humour and a serious message. It is directed by Rithwick Simha and the Kannada version is written by Chandrakanth Kusanur.

On May 10, 7 pm, Kailasam’s famous play Huttadalli Hutta will be on show. The play is directed by B V Rajaram and is set in the British period. The characters will be reeling out dialogues in Kannada and English. As any Kailasam fan would expect, the plays have enough of his wit and humour. The play unfolds with father-son clash in the backdrop of their aspirations of becoming a municipality president and a poet. But their secretaries turn the father-son cold war into a hot one, transforming the house into a battle ground. The grandmother who becomes the refree of the battle adopts the wait and watch policy until her son and grandson realise their mistakes with the help of servant Bora. 
Both the shows will start at 7 pm.
