Chekhov's comedy

SHORT ACT
Last Updated 06 May 2009, 17:48 IST

Cult is presenting Comically Incorrect, four short comedy plays by Anton Chekhov in the City. The plays will be staged on May 8 at 7.30 pm and on May 9 at 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm at the Alliance Francaise. The four comic pieces are written in a formal manner yet they are filled with humour. Different characterisation, hilarious one liners, apt lighting and music makes Comically Incorrect a worthwhile watch.  The play Defenceless Creature is all about a callous confrontation between a bank manager and a noisy housewife while The Arrangement delightfully shows a father’s gift to his 19-year-old son.  The Surgery, on the other hand, is a play about a dentist-to-be.

The last one is The Seduction, a play on how to seduce a woman. The plays are adapted and directed by Daniel. For details, call 9886386424, 9632824253.
