MLA alleges BEML of laxity

Muniyappa should take initiative to ensure more trains for the region

The BEML board, though under the control of Central government, is functioning within the State’s territory.

The demand to regularise services of daily wage workers, employment for locals and other labour problems have been brought to the notice of the management, which, however have not been attended to, Sampangi has said in a press release.

The attitude of the board has been brought to the notice of the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and minister Balachandra Jarkiholi. He has warned of launching an agitation if the management continued with its negligent stand, the he has cautioned.

Centre’s cooperation

Sampangi has also demanded the Union government to take steps for establishment of a special economic zone and set up industries for the benefit of retrenched mine workers. Measures should also be taken to allot the houses in which the erstwhile mine workers are residing to themselves, the release said, demanding intervention of Union Minister of State for Railways, K H Muniyappa in this regard.

A memorandum has already been submitted to Union Minister for Railways, Mamata Banerjee seeking implementation of the railway projects in the constituency.

Minister K H Muniyappa should take initiative in ensuring more train services on Marikuppam-Bangalore route, modernisation of railway station and electrification of train routes. The problems being faced by mine workers have been brought to the notice the Prime Minister and the minister concerned. The chief minister and revenue minister have been urged to grant taluk status to Kolar Gold Fields, the release revealed.
