Kingfisher cancelled maximum flights in October: DGCA

Kingfisher was followed by another private airline Jet Airways with 1.2 per cent of the flights cancelled during the same period.However, low cost airlines IndiGo and GoAir had the least cancellation rate at 0.1 per cent each.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, GoAir received the highest number of complaints against its services at 5.9 complaints per 10,000 passengers against the industry average of 2.7 during October.

Overall, scheduled domestic carriers received 1,235 complaints against their services in October.State-run Air India received the least number of complaints against its services --1.2 per 10,000 passengers-- in the same period. GoAir was Jet Airways received four complaints per 10,000 passengers.

According to the date provided by air-carriers to the DGCA, technical reasons accounted for 44. 2 per cent of flight cancellations.27.5 per cent of flights were cancelled by carriers due to commercial and other reasons.
