A press release from Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene states that officers have failed to curb the mining activity though it is going on near the Mines and Geology department office.
The river banks at Aradavalli and Hoskote village have been dug up using diesel engines, informed Raitha Sangha taluk President K H Chandre Gowda.
He said that complaints given to Mines and Geology department have not yielded fruit.
Senior scientists send juniors to the spot to examine the affected areas and then remain silent, he said urging the officials to take action in this regard at the earliest.
