Liberhan report has no relevance

Last Updated 03 July 2009, 17:06 IST

This has reference to the editorial "BJP's testing time" (July 2).The Liberhan Commission's finding, if at all there is anything to find after 17 years, is akin to exhuming a dead body, for the temple-masjid issue has lost its relevance and hence people's interest in it.

When the country is grappled with many more serious problems, the Liberhan Commission Report is hardly expected to make a big impact at this late stage except may be creating some uproarious scenes if it is tabled in the parliament.

The BJP, smarting under the recent Lok Sabha poll debacle, is likely to go hammer and tongs at the Congress which also cannot escape blame because of its former Prime Minster P.V. Narasimha Rao alleged role in the once sensational issue.
