Students peddling heroin arrested

A student of B Pharma from the Al-Ameen College, Sharma is now profiled in the Bannerghatta Police Station even as the preliminary investigations indicate the hand of the notorious Nisar gang who peddle drugs.  

Having seized 45 gm of heroin and two packets of ganja from them, police told Deccan Herald that “it looks like the boy has been used by the gang for peddling the drugs and there have been no records of Sumeer indulging in the heinous crime earlier”.

Police suspect that  Sumeer brought the contraband from outside the city through the agents of Nisar who are still roaming freely.

“As far as Vikram’s role is concerned, he used to get customers for Sumeer. Their syndicate used to procure the  banned substances from Chennai and sell themk. We are trying to nab the associates of Nisar,” police officials said.

“We arrested them near AMC College on Bannerghatta Road. They used to sell narcotics to college students for the since couple of months,”  police said. The youths were under the provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, police said.

However, according to the top police officials in Women and Narcotics Squad in CCB, this is a rare case where, a peddler has been nabbed by police while selling the contraband near a college.

“Peddlars never try to sell the drug near any college, though most of their customers are college-goers. Students who use narcotics, procure them from various pubs and  joints in the City. The arrested duo might have gone to the college on Bannerghatta Road thinking it is out of the City police limits ,” the officer said.
