Hypocritical society

Last Updated 05 July 2009, 08:49 IST

Very frankly, I do not like the idea of homosexuality, and its reminds me of our neighbour just like my elder brother was a strong believer of sexual equality and often said that there is no difference between animals and our society because both dislike homosexuality. He is no more but his wish is fulfilled nearly six decades later by the verdict.  But the big question is whether our society is prepared to accept the reality of homosexuality? By repealing Section 377 IPC and decriminalising gay sex,  will not serve the purpose of giving a dignified place to the lesbians, gays, bisexuals in society. The thinking of the religious leaders that homosexuality is a sin should be changed.

To millions ,legalising gay sex is a sign of modernity, then why is it that modern society is still unable to accept inter-cast marriages or marriages between two communities?  If the High Court verdict in favour of gays is the sign of the modernity, then why media is not play a leading role in eliminating the hypocritical thinking on not only same sex preference, but also the other evils in the society?
