Rain destroys many horticulture crops

Many crops like Chikkadikai, Mango,Tomato, Cabbage, Carrot and Spinach have been buried and decomposed in the fields in Lakkuru village thereby resulting in huge losses for the farmers.

 The crops in the fields have been destroyed by heavy winds and hailstorms in the taluk from past two days and the revenue administrator has visited the affected places and confirmed this unfortunate incident.

On Tuesday, Higher Assistant Horticulture Department Director Venkatesh, Manjunath and Revenue Department Srinivas visited the village and assured compensation to the farmers. Srinivas told the press that the loss incurred by the farmers would be assessed by the tashildar and would be reported to government, which would provide funds and compensation to the farmers.
