At a press meet here, MLA Prakash opined that it was not correct to have two separate investigation into the same scam.

The Lokayukta is the government appointed independent body and it was unbecoming on the part of the State government to draw a line within which the inquiry should be held.

The government did not have the right to dictate any terms for the Lokayukta, he added.
He also flayed BJP National President, Nithin Gadkari for making a derogatory remarks against the Lokayuktha Justice Santosh Hegde.

It was Gadkari who went to Hegde’s house and pleaded him to withdraw his resignation, a few months ago.

Launching a tirade against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, he said that CM was trying to put the blame on former prime minister, H D Deve Gowda that the opposition parties never allowed him to function since the BJP came to power in the State.

Yeddyurappa stalled the Assembly proceedings for three days and had demanded B T Lalitha Naik to tender resignation for the fault of her son. It was better for Yeddyurappa to recall those days.

District neglected

Contending that the State government has neglected the development of Hassan district, Prakash said taluk office is like the government for the farmers. They would be happy if the works go on smoothly.

Seven tahsildars have been changed in the last two and a half years. He has never requested the government for the transfer of any tahsildar.

Nagaraj who was functioning well in the last five months, has been transferred. This shows how much the government is bothered about the people’s welfare. He demanded the government to release Rs 1.8 crore which has been lying at the deputy commissioner’s office for the rain-hit taluks immediately.

The government has released Rs 25 lakh to all the Assembly constituencies in the district, without taking into account damage being caused to the crops.
