Actress Sharmila Mandre and actor Chetan inaugurated the event and hand-picked the three best stalls.

Rural crafts from Jodhpur won the first prize and flameless automatic wax candle collection by Sanjeev Agarwal from Mumbai won the second prize. |

“This is really a different kind of exhibition. Some of the items available here can be found nowhere else in the City. I will be buying a whole lot of Indian jewellery and clothing from here,” said Sharmila after inaugurating the expo.

The flameless candles were battery-run and a major crowd-puller. Made of real wax, the candles were available in varied colours and shapes and sold like hot cakes. Thar Handicrafts Gallery’s wooden furniture and Rajasthani jewellery and Gaia’s glazed pottery items were also unique in their own ways. Rina Dhiren’s Kutchi traditional embroidered salwar suits, stitched and non-stitched kurtas, colourful dupattas and bags won the hearts of many.

Ashish Mimani’s georgette and net saris were the cynosure of all eyes.
“I was eagerly looking forward to this event to purchase items for Christmas. I bought candle-holders, decorative items and new clothes,” said Sangeetha Holla, a housewife.
