CM to launch poll campaign from Dec 25

At a news conference here on Monday, he exuded his confidence that BJP would come to power in majority of TPs and ZPs in the district. As many as 13 candidates would be elected to ZP. The party would appeal the electorate to vote for BJP on the development works of the B S Yeddyurappa Government.

CM to visit on Dec 25

He informed that the CM would launch the election campaign from Terakanambi on December 25 and on the same day he would hold public meetings at Kottalawadi, Santhemarahalli and Agara.

Home Minister R Ashok would visit the district on December 26 and campaign in Begur, Harave, Baragi and Hangala. Social Welfare Minister A Narayanaswamy would campaign on December 27 and also hold a padayatra at Santhemarahalli, Alur and Chandakawadi.

Forest Minister C H Vijayashankar would hold the campaign on December 28 and address meetings at Ramapura, Martalli, Bandalli, Lokkanahalli, Palya and Satyagala.

District In-charge Minister M P Renukacharya, MLC Thontadarya,Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation chairman A R Krishnamurthy and other would also particiapte in the election campaign. There is no triangular contest in the district and the BJP is locked horns with Congres, he claimed.

In another press conference, District Congress President and MLA H S Mahadevprasad said the party had given priority to all the communities in the elections. Ten youths have been given tickets to contest the ZP polls, Tickets are given to four backward classes, one each to soliga tribal and scheduled tribes. No ticket has been given to former members this time. Out of 85 TP seats, 14 tickets are given to backward classes. This time, there would be no rebel candidates in the fray, he added.

Congress leaders Syed Rafi, P Mariswamy and others were present.
