 SOULFUL K J YesudasThis event marks Yesudas’ 50 years of association with the Kannada film industry. The proceeds of this concert will go towards social service projects and healthcare services for the poor and needy under the scheme Samarpana71.

“This is the first time that an event on such a large scale is happening in the Kannada industry. I’m glad that this opportunity has been utilised to celebrate Yesudas’ birthday in such a unique manner,” said Shivaram, Kannada film actor, at a press conference.

The concert will witness Yesudas singing old Kannada film songs. Renowned singers like S P Balasubramaniam, Susheela, S Janaki, Manjula Gururaj, Madhu Balakrishna, Gurukiran and many others will be performing with him at the concert. The musical event will be directed by Hamsalekha and eminent personalities like Ambarish, Ravi Chandran and Ilayaraja will  be part of the programme.

The event will have Parvathamma Rajkumar honouring Yesudas.

K L Ravi Swamy, TV actor and director, said, “This programme is named Hridaya Raaga because it is aimed at connecting millions of people through heart and through Yesudas’ music. This will make them happy and help patients in their treatment.”

“It is also a way expressing our gratitude to the singers of yesteryears who have rendered selfless service to the industry,” he added. “Yesudas does not believe in celebrating his birthday in a grand manner but this time, we planned to conduct this programme in order to provide healthcare services to the needy through his soothing voice which reaches millions of people. It gives immense satisfaction in doing something for the society,” said Manandi Suresh, District Governor, Rotary International District.

As many as 71 free heart surgeries for children and adults, eye-surgery camps, polio corrective surgeries, dialysis, artificial limbs, chemotherapy for children, clubfoot surgeries and health check-up camps will be conducted as part of  Samarpana71.
The programme will be held at Tripuravasani entrance at the Palace Grounds at 6 pm. Tickets, priced at Rs 500, are available at, Sangeetha mobile outlets and Rotary Clubs.
