CMC: Subbaiah's plea to Governor

Last Updated 24 December 2010, 16:40 IST

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, he said “the incident was not accidental. It was a pre planned incident. On the direction of the ruling party, police did not prevent the offenders.” He said the police personnel should not function like servants of a political party.

“The Congress and JD(S) can complain to the Lokayukta against inactive police personnel. Police did not file case against those who were involved in tearing off the nomination papers, damaging the public property during the election. Hence, the Governor and Lokayukta should intervene.”

“Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah along with the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Home Minister R Ashok are involved in the incident.

It was not right on the part of the BJP members to create ruckus alleging that their members have been kidnapped by the Opposition. Instead of initiating action against their own members for remaining absent to the meeting, it is not right on their part to indulge in violence,” Subbaiah added.

By denying ticket to an able candidate V P Shashidhar, MLC T John and DCC President Veena Achaiah are involved in anti-party activities. The Congress-JD(S) should have entered into alliance for  polls in the district. Though there is a anti-BJP wave in the district, the voters are not in favour of Congress as well, he added.
