Addressing reporters here on Sunday, he said that the inquiry into allegations are being handed over to agencies, which belong to them. “They have no respect for the Lokayukta and the CBI. Hence, we have decided to seek the people’s mandate. Let the people decide,” he added.

“They were postponing the Assembly proceedings whenever JD(S) raised the issue of corruption in the Assembly. They were not capable of answering the queries of the opposition,” Deve Gowda criticised.

The JD(S) will fight corruption with its own manifesto. Awarness will be created among voters about the corrupt government, he added. “The BJP is trying to shake the foundation of the democracy by rewriting a Constitution of their own. People in the State will teach them a lesson,” Deve Gowda said.

Congress leader Yaradakere Rajappa joined JD(S) on the occasion. MLC Y S V Datta, leaders Birur Devaraj, Gangadhara Naika and others were present.
