Hearing the anticipatory bail petition of Muninarayanappa, Justice Keshavanarayan directed that the Lokayukta police should not precipitate the matter till the next date of hearing. The court adjourned the hearing to Thursday.

Muninarayanappa is one of the directors of Itasca company. He had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the court. The Lokayukta police had made six specific allegations against Muninarayanappa for his involvement in disbursing compensation.

The Lokayukta police alleged that Muninarayanappa, when he was SLAO, had disbursed the compensation to a person who had impersonated as a land owner.

“Instead of awarding compensation to the rightful owner, Mary John, for acquiring land near Bandikodigehalli, he had disbursed the same to another person, who claimed to be Mary John,” the Lokayukta said.

Muninarayanappa, according to the Lokayukta, had awarded compensation to two persons, instead of one. Also, the compensation was paid without securing indemnity bonds and sales deed, while acquiring land for a hardware park at Bandikodigehalli village.
