'Acquiring inch of land is against govt assurance'

Speaking to media persons during his ‘Samarasya yathre’ (walk for harmony) at Vamanjoor near here on Thursday, the seer reiterated the State government’s promise that there will be no further acquisition land for the II phase of SEZ.

To a query on the recent survey at Kudubipadav for land acquisition, the seer said that he would visit the area on Friday and decide on the future course of action.

It may be recalled that the seer had staged a dharna at Kudubipadav a few months ago after the officials forcibly acquired the land for the II phase of SEZ.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade who accompanied the seer during his ‘walk for harmony’ said that he too will support the seer’s move against the SEZ.

Heggade who joined the seer in Vamanjoor (on the third of seer’s yathre) visited Ambedkar colony. They later visited a few houses in Moodushedde.
