JOIN USHe was speaking at the ‘Design Sensitisation Seminar’ organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Friday.
Explaining about product development, he said that important factors such as technical design, cost reduction, reliability and performance should be kept in mind.
Prof Rao observed that the number of successful valued additions that a product can provide decides its success. Furthermore, he said that another reason for product failure is inadequate market analysis.
He urged participants at the seminar to understand the value and quality perception of a customer, to provide better services.
He also said that design should focus on minimising non-essential work for the people.
