Appoint paramedics for prisoners: Chief Justice

Speaking at the conclusion of a seminar on “Mental health of prison inmates,” on Sunday, he said the State government was finding it difficult to fill up the posts of doctors to serve the jail inmates.

“The State instead of keeping the posts vacant can relax rules and substitute them with the appointment of paramedic staff, to address the health issues of those languishing in the jail,” he said.

The Chief Justice said the Nimhans has already agreed to train the paramedic staff.
