'Rectify errors in ration cards'

Gopal Bhandari (Cong), who posed the question, suggested that tahsildars should be authorised to rectify mistakes in  the ration cards issued in Karkala constituency and in the undivided Dakshina Kannada. Food & Civil Supplies Minister H Halappa said the Chief Secretary has directed  DCs to weed out ineligible card-holders. However, he did not make any commitment on authorising tahsildars.
