Special panel to probe work codes scam

Siddaiah clarified that all the bogus work codes were created during the Administrator’s period and none had been commissioned since the revelation of the scam. “There are 2,498 works that are yet to begin, but none will begin as they were all from the Administrator’s period,” Siddaiah said.

Siddaiah added that of the 1,600 project files which came for re-validation, 548 works did not tally. “Though the bill amount is Rs 2,265 crore, the actual works estimate to only about Rs 400-500 crore”, he said.
