Chiru fans bear the lathi

The Praja Rajyam chief was on his way to Anantapur in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, via Chikkaballapur and Bagepalli, to take part in a protest against inflation. Fans from different parts of the district waited near the Bengaluru International Airport, but since the flight was delayed, they moved to Chadalapura, disrupting traffic on the National Highway.

When the actor finally arrived, police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and make way for the actor’s convoy. The fans who waited all morning for a glimpse of the star finally got their due when Chiranjeevi waved at them before heading towards Anantapur.
