Armed with perfectly manicured nails, ironed tresses, Jimmy Choo heels (she loves pinks, purples and gold) and a gorgeous smile, at 22, Shazahn Padamsee oozes that elfin charm and cosmopolitan upbringing of sin city, Mumbai.

“I simply love Hindi movies,” she gushes. I couldn’t possibly have pursued any other profession except acting on the silver screen. I love what life brings to me and I feel privileged to be doing what I want.” Shazahn (her name means ‘queen of the planet’) decided to graduate to Bollywood after her stint in theatre and acting in various ad films for brands like McDonalds, Clean & Clear, 7 Up, Nescafe, Airtel, Gitanjali Jewels, among others. Adding to that, she has even tried her hand at event management.

She did a small role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year and her performance was appreciated by the audience. “Working in Rocket Singh... was a great learning experience,” she says, admitting, “My parents guide me. When I took to films, my father assumed reins of my career. He is very strict about my professional decisions and keeps me in check,” adds Padamsee.

Apart from Hindi films, Shazahn has also acted in a Tamil flick titled Kanimozhi. Her latest film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji has garnered mixed reviews while her performance has been appreciated by a few critics. Shazahn talks about her character in the film. “I loved playing 18-year-old June Pinto. I worked in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji as it is a slice of life film, a realistic romantic-comedy that’s hilarious to the core. I was extremely nervous prior to the release of the film. Especially because my father has a critical eye. Even though I have received compliments for my performance, it is difficult to please my dad. He is my biggest critic,” she says.  Ask Shazahn about her Hollywood dreams and she retorts, “My heart belongs here, in Bollywood. I have nowhere else to go. I want to be a successful actress in the Hindi film industry. I am living my dream.”

Shazahn also talks about her daily routine and fetishes, “I am a creature of habit. I follow the same routine everyday. My first intake in the morning is warm lemonade with honey, followed by two glasses of water. I follow it up with a bowl of freshly cut fruits, and three egg whites and one egg yolk with a slice of brown bread. I have half a bowl of muesli too. I love peanut butter, but I restrict its intake to one spoon a day as it is very fattening. I am a fitness freak and hit the gym four to five times a week.”
