Colourful procession marks Samajotsava

The festival commenced with rituals and poojas at Veerabhadra Temple in the town.
A colourful procession was taken out from Kuvempu Circle to mark the occasion. Chief Whip of the State government D N Jeevaraj, BJP Leaders N S Ramaswamy, Kukkudige Ravindra, Malige Chandrashekhar and Kondibailu Chandrashekhar Jois participated in the programme. Balekudru Mutt Seer Narasimhashrama Swamy blessed the occasion.

Delivering the keynote address, Religious Leader Surath Kumar said that Hindus should unite against anti-Hindu forces. “Kashmir is an undivided part of our nation. The Central government, Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdulla and Writer Arundhati Roy are anti-nationals,” he lashed out.

Programme Convener Agali Nagesh Rao said that the main objective of the Samajotsava is to create awareness among people on patriotism, issues of Kashmir and Ram Janma Bhumi. Awareness will be created against the conspiracy of branding Hindu organisations as terrorist groups, he added.
