Infamous for blatantly violating human rights, the UP police did not bother to check the age of the child before serving a notice to Saddam, a third standard student and resident of Chausana village on Wednesday.
Saddam’s father Yaqub has written to the district magistrate in this regard and demanded scrapping of the order passed by an executive magistrate. The officials have assured of action against the policemen if found guilty.
According to sources, the police may have been tricked into issuing a challan against the child by the rivals of Yaqoob in the village. The police had a few years ago registered a case against an eight-year-old child in Hardoi district after his family involved in a brawl with neighbours.
