The delegation demanding taluk tag for Kushalnagar had been led by MLA M P Appachuranjan. <br /><br />“The government will soon form a Cabinet Sub-Committee in connection with taluk reorganisation. <br /><br />The hobli centres deserving taluk tags will be upgraded on the basis of the recommendations of the sub-committee and those of the previous committees. The proposed Cauvery taluk will also be considered,” the CM said adding that he would discuss the issue with the local MLA.<br /><br />State Water Board former president K P Chandrakala drew the Chief Minister’s attention on the demand for a separate Kodagu state. However, Yeddyurappa said he was happy that majority of Kodavas had opposed the proposal.<br /><br />In the meantime, he asked Special Officer V P Baligar and senior official Lakshminarayan, who were present on the occasion, to give special emphasis to the comprehensive development of Kodagu.<br /><br />He assured the delegation that the government would give additional funds to the district.<br /><br />MLA M P Appachuranjan, MLC S G Medappa appealed the Chief Minister to upgrade Kushalnagar that has all qualifications to become a taluk, into Cauvery taluk.<br /><br />The Committee President V P Shashidhar and General Secretary R K Nagendrababu submitted a memorandum to the CM urging him to use special parameter to the Malnad area while reorganising taluks.<br /><br />Actor Jai Jagadish, ZP former president H S Ashok, TP member Lakshmanraje Urs, Town Panchayat President HJ Kariappa, members Abdul Khader, V N Mahesh, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike District President P K Jagadish, Jaya Karnataka hobli-unit President Muralidhar and the representatives of various organisations were part of the delegation.</p>
