HC orders arrest of 4 Shopian policemen

The officers, placed already under suspension by the government  for destroying evidence in the case, were taken into custody following the order of the J&K high court order. The High Court on Wednesday had asked the police to arrest the cops and conduct a narco analysis test on them.

The court also directed the police to take blood samples of the suspended cops to see whether they were involved in the rape and murder of Asiya and her sister-in-law Neelofar on May 29.

“We feel that arrest of those officers followed by collection of their blood samples for the purpose of preparation of DNA profile of those officers in order to match the same with the DNA profile of the vaginal semen of the deceased ladies would expedite the investigations,” said Chief Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir in their order.

Justice Barin has appealed to the people to end the strike and assured them of justice in the case.
