JOIN USInteracting with reporters in Rail Bhavan the Railway Board chairman said the project of bio-toilets would be implemented this year. “We have done its trial and we will implement the project this year only,” said the Chairman. He also assured that the railways would improve cleanliness at the platforms and around the stations. “We have decided to take up the task this year,” he added.
However, the Chairman admitted to the fact that railways have not been able to curb the activities of touts in reservation system completely even after regular raids. He appealed to the public to create an atmosphere which should discourage these unethical things.
He claimed that complaints about the food quality have decreased by 30 per cent after the implementation of new catering policy.
