Marilyn Monroe voted top Hollywood bombshell

The legendary beauty had classics like 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes', 'The Seven Year Itch' and 'Some Like it Hot' to her credit and her star quality has got her the top position in a recent poll of screen goddesses, reported Daily Express.

The sizzling diva, who died at the age of 36, beat an array of current stars like Angelina Jolie to the second place, Scarlett Johansson in the third, Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta Jones in fourth, and Salma Hayek in the fifth spot.

More than 80,000 fans, mostly male, also ranked the stunning beauty ahead of big-screen greats like British-born Elizabeth Taylor in the poll conducted by US film industry cable network Reelz.

"Her untimely death served to add to her mystique. She still personifies the perfection of beauty and, boy, she could act too," said a fan.
