<p>B V Ganesh, chairman of the Education and Sports Standing Committee, said the movies would be selected based on their educational and moral values as its objectives were character-building and moral education. <br /><br />The Palike would show movies on historical personalities like Mahatma Gandhi and Vivekananda. <br /><br />The live sports events would be shown to the children through Satellite-based Advanced Multimedia Education (SAME). <br /><br />It has been decided that Edusat will provide its services for 958 hours a year. <br />The Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keonics), the nodal agency to provide SAME, was asked to come out with good animated movies through their in-house animation development programmes.</p>
