Former Pakistani MP's son shot dead

Roaidad Khan, son of Sakhi Jan, former senator from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in the northwestern region, was shot near the Gulshan Chowrangi, Geo News reported.

Police said unidentified gunmen ambushed Khan's car and fired at it. His driver was injured and was admitted to hospital.

Khan owned a transport business in Karachi. Sakhi Jan had led a tribal army of 700 people in the war against India in 1947-48 and was awarded the title of "Sher-e-Kashmir" for his contribution by Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, according to the official website of the senate.

He was elected to the senate in 1994 for a six-year term.
