Motamma flays former CM HDK

Talking to news persons here, she said if Kumaraswamy wins the by-polls, he had to resign to Lok Sabha membership. Again by-elections has to be held for it which means additional burden on the nation’s exchequer. So, it was better for him to review his decision, she added.

On former prime minister, H D Deve Gowda’s advise to his son HDK against contesting the by-polls, Motamma termed it as a political gimmick. She said Congress would field a winnable candidate from Channapatna. The Congress has field ed Raghunandan as its party  candidate, she said adding that BJP was responsible for responsible for by-elections because of its ‘Operation Kamala’ to woo legislators of other political parties. She challenged the State government to dissolve the State Assembly and hold elections fresh instead of making mockery of democracy.

District Congress President B Shivaram, MLA Y N Rudreshgowda, former MLC S M Ananda, Block Congress President A N Madhavegowda, Congress leader Y T Damodhar and others were present.
