Last Updated 24 March 2011, 18:00 IST

It will bring two of Hyusong’s bikes - the ST7, a 700cc cruiser and the GT650R, a 650cc sports bike, both of which are expected to be priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh.

Garware Motors Managing Director Diya Garware Ibanez said the bikes would come into the country following Garware’s partnership with Hyusong’s owner S&T Motors, involving a technical support agreement, wherein the latter would provide full technical and manpower support in assembling the products, sales & marketing and after sales service.

The bikes would be assembled at the company’s Wai plant in Maharashtra, which has a capacity to manufacture 8 to 10 bikes a day. The company proposes an investment of Rs 50 crore for the purpose, Ibanez said.

The company will set up 10 dealerships in Bangalore (near Lal Bagh), Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa, Chennai and Kochi this year. It expects to sell 2,000 bikes in the first year and around 5,000 in the third year, Ibanez said.
