The Bill intends to bring in an amendment to the section 98(a) and 98(b) of Karnataka Forest Act, 1963 for this purpose. There is a provision to impose interest on arrears towards the sales tax and income tax, but not for the Forest Development Tax.
However, the Bill does not specify the rate of interest the government is planning to impose.
