MSIL manager held

The MSIL unit is situated at Koornadka in Puttur. K R Nayak was taking bribe of Rs 3812 from one Bhaskar.

It was said that 20 to 25 labourers were serving as daily wage labourers in MSIL unit at Koornadka. Most of them were engaged in loading and unloading. The were engaged in collecting fee from each vehicle for loading and unloading and were distributing among themselves. However, the Manager was demanding commission from the fee collected from the vehicles.

He had even threatened of dismissing the labourers for nor paying the bribe. A labourer Bhaskar had complained to the Lokayukta. Accordingly, the police caught him red handed.

Scribe assaulted

A reporter of an eveninger was assaulted by few students of First Grade College, for allegedly reporting the incident of assault on students by Hindu organisations at Vittal on Monday.

Mohammed was injured in the incident. He was also the student of First Geade College, Vittal.

It was said that student leaders Praveen Bondala, Mahesh, Danush, Sushanth, Deekshith, Harish and others had assaulted him using cricket bat and wicket. A case has been registered.
